Return to Wheeling St. by going south on Broad. You will see St. John Episcopal Church. St. Johns with its twin crenelated towers and tudor arch was inspired by St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle in England.

The interior has an unique ceiling which has a motif of white roses on a red field, signifying the union of the House of York with the House of Lancaster at the conclusion of the War of Roses.

C.M.L. Wiseman states in his History of Fairfield County that the red rose is historically the emblematic flower of Lancaster.
