Next to 115 E Wheeling, built around an original log cabin, this home is possibly the most romantic of all the historic Lancaster houses of this era with its southern charm. The log house was built in 1803 by Tunis Cox, additions in 1836. In 1844 Tunis became another of Lancaster's failed merchants due to the Panic of 1837 and the house was sold at Sheriff's sale.

The home found was owned at one time by the Martin family whose daughter, Mary Jane married Richard Outcault within its walls. Outcault was the originator of the comic strip, the Walt Disney of his day. Outcault's most famous characters included "Yellow Kid", and "Buster Brown". Buster Brown and his dog Tige were modeled after his two children and their pet dog.

Noted for its beautiful facade, tall columns, curved window frames that were duplicated in the design of the iron fence and the entrance steps to make a harmonious whole.
